BIO: Xavi Carbonell is seen as an established mid-career artist. Born in 1971 he has been primarily influenced by the 1990s. His work can be compared to Cy Twombly, Basquiat, Alfonso Saura, Pollock, Kandinsky ... artists that he makes his own…

“A classroom of rowdy children, a shower of sweets after breaking a piñata that floods everything, a carnival dance, a rock concert, the bustle of the big city. Little beings in the childlike manner of the artist seem to dance to the music, under an explosion of color. An explosion of life, energy, optimism, naturalness, happiness, in a personal universe. Or made up. Or maybe they are artist's delusions, or ours. Maybe it's life itself. Perhaps it is an invitation to explore those childhood memories that we travel through in adulthood. Everything can be and can be nothing. Only they know. Only the artist knows. (Or neither).”
