Description

Do you dare to collect a part of yourself?

This piece is a visual representation of the contrast between the nostalgia for an innocent past and the emotional struggle of a hyperconnected present. We live in a world where emotions are shaped by external validation and the gaze of others.

It’s a subtle yet powerful critique of how social media impacts the way we perceive and present ourselves. Here, what you project and what you truly feel converge, exposing the emotional cracks we often try to hide.
Look at me. Reflect. Now tell me: do you dare to give your collection a voice?

BIO: Dhani Barragán (born 1989, Mairena de Aljarafe, Seville) is an artist deeply influenced by pop culture, lowbrow art, and pop surrealism. From a young age, he showed a passion for drawing, copying comic book characters like Spider-Man and later exploring graffiti during his adolescence. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Seville (2008–2013), where he began to develop his distinctive style, blending visually cheerful scenes with critical and social messages.
Inspired by the transformations and fusions of characters in shows like Dragon Ball and Pokémon, Dhani reimagines pop culture icons as modern symbols. His work uses universally recognized figures to convey complex ideas in an accessible way, free from intellectual elitism. Combining nostalgia, social critique, and creative freedom, his art is both playful and thought-provoking.
