ARTWORK: SWAMP GIRL
ARTISTS: RAMÓN PLA & SILVIA PÉREZ (Spain)

CONCEPT: Inspired by Japanese horror films, this sweet girl emerges, and from whose virtue the swamp was jealous, and in its despair devoured her.

"They say that she has always been there. That this girl who used to be full of sweetness  and  innocence  had  turned  into  a  sinister  and  disturbing  presence.   They say that the swamp, sunk into despair and jealous of the light that the little girl emanated, devoured her with the hope of taking over so much virtue.

That it believed that such an atrocious act would turn its mud into crystal-­clear waters, that its putrid stench would turn into eucalyptus scent and that the evening dew would at last lull its grasslands at the crack of dawn after centuries of total darkness. But  I  have  never  believed  what  people  say."

TECHNIQUE: Resin,  cold  porcelain,     brass,  cotton  ribbon,     acrylic  paint,     water-­based  matte  varnish,   gloss  outdoor  varnish.

ARTIST´S BIO:
Silvia Pérez and Ramón Plá were born in 1979 and 1974 respectively in the city of Valencia (Spain).
Their paths met in 2003 at the company where they still share their work day and their artistic experiences: Lladró.
She is a decorator, responsible for creating the Floral Design in all of the works of the company.
He is in charge of the Decoration and Quality Control Departments.
Under the umbrella of the prestige of the Company and due to their artistic task, they have had the privilege of working with remarkable designers, such as: Jaime Hayón, Gary Baseman, Devil Robots, Paul Smith, Committee, etc.
This savoir-faire has allowed them to grow professionally in other disciplines, both together and at an individual level.
