CONCEPT and STORY: CROWHORSE III is carved from sustainably sourced hawthorn wood. Once carved the piece is burnt with various blow torches. The carving is hollowed out underneath the belly to prevent cracking.

CrowHorse III was inspired by folklore and mythological creatures from Europe.

BIOGRAPHY: Tach Pollard lives in the UK. He started collecting oak roots as a child when he moved close to the woods. He would wake up before school and grab a wheel barrow to haul his finds back home before school. Once he had a few he then spent time cleaning them back to their skeletal forms. His Dad had a shop in Brighton and allowed me to sell the roots on a stall outside.

Much later in life he came across the pile of discarded roots from childhood and decided to carve them...
