In this fine print, desire does not appear as a free pleasure, but as something guided and imposed. Cartoon hands hold, push, and condition; a donut in color becomes the immediate object of attraction: bright, sweet, desirable. Against that, the body in black and white appears more exposed, more vulnerable, almost absorbed by that visual logic of consumption.

The result is a work that feels uncomfortable and self-aware, questioning how certain pop images continue to shape the way we understand pleasure, the body, and representation.

Khaddouj Barghout (1999) is a Moroccan-Dutch visual artist, painter, and tattoo artist who lives and works in Rotterdam. Her work explores themes such as sensuality, identity, and the representation of the female body, questioning normative ways of looking while combining surrealism, provocation, and detail with great force. She has exhibited in various galleries, including spaces in Rotterdam and Berlin, and her work moves naturally between beauty, tension, and a very deliberate sense of discomfort.
