This work by Dhani Barragán belongs to "Deconstructed Hypetrends", the series in which collectible sneakers and objects of contemporary urban desire appear opened up, exposed, and pushed to the limit. Here, the reference to a cult high-top sneaker from the sneaker universe is evident, but it stops functioning as an immaculate relic and becomes something more revealing: a hype icon crossed by the desire, status, and emotional weight we project onto certain objects.

The open seams, exposed foam, and explosion of color turn the sneaker into something more than an aspirational product. It no longer speaks only of design or exclusivity, but of obsession, wear, and overidentification. Dhani Barragán works between Neo Pop, graphic surrealism, and contemporary iconography, transforming recognizable references into images with greater tension, memory, and visual charge. His work is part of the CAC Málaga and of private collections across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
