Drawing by Judas Arrieta "Tomorrow"
$1,150.00
Description
In Tomorrow, Judas Arrieta builds a surface saturated with images, stains, fast lines, overlapping references, and phrases that feel almost like unfiltered thoughts:
“I’m not in a bad mood, I’m just smart”, “I’m very sensitive, but my sensitivity isn’t unshakeable”, “Some things will never change.”
They are small declarations of independence against outside judgment.
Because maybe what others call a bad mood is, in fact, a form of critical intelligence. A different way of reading the world. A sharper sensitivity. A perception that refuses to accept just anything in order to appear comfortable, kind, or easy to understand.
That is one of the central ideas of the work: the things that matter most have cracks, noise, and contradictions: “Too much perfection is a mistake.”
Judas Arrieta is one of the most distinctive and charismatic Spanish contemporary artists working at the intersection of pop culture, manga, graffiti, and contemporary art. His work is part of collections such as the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Casa Asia Barcelona, the Embassy of Spain in Japan, and CajaMadrid, and has been exhibited in Spain, the United States, Finland, Japan, Korea, and China.
In 2025, he was a finalist for the BMW Painting Prize with DESFILE DE YOKAI (HANA-BI), reinforcing a career that does not simply quote pop culture, but transforms it into a personal artistic language.
