Painting by Celipe Perroloco "Corrupted AstroBoy"
$200.00
Description
This original work by Célipe Perroloco takes the imaginary of the robot boy who once promised future, progress, and heroic purity, and pulls it into a far rawer and more emotional place. It dismantles him until only the essential remains: a face, a spiny line, and empty sockets loaded with memory. Those empty sockets activate the viewer’s gaze, forcing each person to fill those spaces with their own nostalgia, memories, and wear.
Célipe Perroloco, also known as Fragile Freaks, works with humble materials such as cardboard and paper to turn them into pieces of strong expressive force. His language moves between apparent simplicity and emotional tension, shaping works with rarity, character, and presence. In his line there is speed, pressure, and a contained energy that reinforces his distinctive duality between restraint and eruption.
This work belongs to the “Corrupted Pop” series, in which the artist takes the symbols of childhood into a territory where they no longer remain intact: they age, distort, and become stained along with us.
