Here there is no eternal smile, no perfect pose, no intact innocence. What remains is a pop culture icon dragged into a territory of excess, impulse, and shame. In this work from the “Shameless” series, Moi Martos literally pulls down the pants of one of the most recognizable figures in the collective imagination in order to break its impeccable image and reveal it from a place of pure exposure and cheekiness.

“Shameless” is a series in which Moi Martos presents different characters with their pants lowered, quite literally exposing their “private parts.” But this gesture does not end in provocation alone. It becomes a visual device for speaking about identity, exhibition, and a culture obsessed with image, propriety, and the need to maintain a controlled appearance at all times.

The work was developed both as a fine print and as an art toy, extending the same visual gesture into two different formats and reinforcing its strength both as an image and as a collectible object.

Moi Martos is a multidisciplinary Spanish artist, tattoo artist, illustrator, and sculptor, trained at the Professional Drawing School in Madrid. His work moves between the reinterpretation of pop culture, digital illustration, urban pulse, and a refined technique that allows him to take recognizable characters and familiar visual codes into stranger, more uncomfortable, and more personal territories.
