This work is part of “Dhu Stories” by Dhani Barragán, a series inhabited by characters, creatures, and hybrid figures in which pop, the mythological, and the animal coexist within the same imaginary. Here, anime, comics, cartoons, sneakers, and contemporary visual culture merge to give shape to a new character, born from everything we consume, admire, and remember.

The sword, the sneakers, and the accumulation of symbols do not refer only to combat, but also to belonging and visual memory.

Dhani Barragán (Seville, 1989) develops a language in which Neo Pop, graphic surrealism, and contemporary iconography coexist. His work has been exhibited in Spain, Indonesia, and the United States, is part of private collections across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and he maintains a close collaboration with Art Toy Gama.
