In SWACK, everything seems to be in conflict: the characters, the panels, the words, the lines and the signs.
The artist CAZXU builds a scene of pure tension: fragmented panels, saturated colors, aggressive gestures and an onomatopoeia that cuts through the image like a blow. The multi-panel composition accelerates the reading, as if the eye could not rest anywhere. Each fragment pushes the next. Each scene seems interrupted by another.
The work uses the language of classic comics as a battlefield to say something very clear: the time for watching without getting involved is over. To face difficult times, you have to move, act and enter the scene.
The work of CAZXU, a self-taught urban artist from Germany, moves between Neo-Pop, Contemporary Pop Art, Post-Graffiti and Graphic Abstraction.
Her language adopts resources from comics, animation, advertising and commercial graphic design, but takes them into a rawer, more fragmented territory, closer to the language of the wall: layers, cut-outs, visual collisions, bold lines and street energy.
