In Smash, Now What!, CAZXU builds a frontal collision between icons of popular culture, classic comic-book aesthetics, urban fashion and street attitude.

What seemed to belong to a recognizable universe now appears displaced into another territory: more aggressive, more saturated, more contemporary.

Expressions. Poses. Phrases. Onomatopoeias. Flat colors. Composition cuts. It is a visual battle after the impact. But the question remains open: Now what?

The work of CAZXU, a self-taught urban artist from Germany, moves between Neo-Pop, Contemporary Pop Art, Post-Graffiti and Graphic Abstraction.

Her language adopts resources from comics, animation, advertising and commercial graphic design, but takes them into a more fragmented territory, closer to the language of the wall: layers, cut-outs, visual collisions, bold lines and street energy.
