This original drawing forms part of the creative process behind “Barocchio I”, a work belonging to Dhani Barragán’s “Deconstructed Pop Fusion” series.
In this line, the artist fuses classic characters from cartoons, comics, anime, manga, and pop culture to create new visual entities.

Here, two imaginaries collide: the mischievous irreverence of a contemporary cartoon icon and the moral shadow of a classic character associated with lies, childhood, and transformation.
The result is a hybrid figure, strange and familiar at the same time. You recognize it, but not completely.

Dhani Barragán works precisely with that feeling: seeing something you know, but reconstructed through a personal and critical graphic language.

This sketch allows you to see that process in its purest state: the search lines, the initial structure, and the decisions still open before the image became the final artwork.

Dhani Barragán —Seville, 1989— works between Neo Pop, graphic surrealism, and contemporary iconography.
His work has been exhibited in Spain, Indonesia, and the United States, forms part of private collections in Europe, Asia, and America, and he maintains a close collaboration with Art Toy Gama.
