“Nation in Ruins” turns collapse into a frontal image. The gaze is fixed, absorbing, almost confrontational, forcing you to look directly at what we would normally rather turn away from. The piece moves within a very clear tension between attraction and decomposition: the head seems to melt, split open, and become contaminated by color and matter, yet it never loses its force. On the contrary, the more it comes apart, the more hypnotic it becomes.

Moi Martos is a multidisciplinary Spanish artist, illustrator, and tattoo artist with more than 15 years of experience. Trained at ESDIP in Madrid, he has built a distinctive language in which urban aesthetics, pop surrealism, the reinterpretation of recognizable icons, and a sensibility close to contemporary lowbrow coexist. His practice spans canvas, mural painting, digital illustration, and other disciplines, and he has created large-scale murals for municipalities and public institutions across Spain. Today, much of his work focuses on pushing popular characters and visual imaginaries into darker, stranger, and more psychological territory, combining technique, craft, and strong visual impact.
