“Survivor Bird I” belongs to Deconstructed Pop, the most recognizable series by Dhani Barragán, in which the icons of our childhood appear torn open, worn out, and spilling their stuffing, like toys marked by use, memory, and visual overconsumption. But here there is not only wear: there is an explosion from within. The sparrow, the artist’s alter ego, breaks into the character and makes it burst into foam, remains, eyes, and fragments.

A powerful print about the moment when the artist breaks the icon open to extract something of his own from it. What was once only a shared memory becomes here a more personal, more tense, and more alive image.

Dhani Barragán (Seville, 1989) develops a visual language in which Neo Pop, graphic surrealism, and popular iconography coexist, transforming seemingly light references into scenes of greater emotional density. His works are part of private collections across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
