Painting by Celipe Perroloco "A Unique Flower, Corrupted"
$200.00
Description
A flower cut out from rigid cardboard.
A presence that recalls the iconography of the smiley face, but here that recognizable joy has been altered. The smile no longer works as a clean gesture of happiness, but as a theatrical mask, almost a forced grimace.
The black, nervous and irregular strokes give it a raw, almost anxious energy. Its scribbled eyes create a hypnotic focal point. They do not look in a natural way. They stay there, fixed, as if the piece were looking back at you.
A pop totem between the psychedelic and the disturbing.
This piece belongs to Corrupted Flower, a series by Célipe Perroloco where the flower stops being a friendly symbol and becomes a contaminated, nervous and strangely alive image.
Also known as Fragile Freaks, Célipe Perroloco is a multidisciplinary artist who transforms raw materials such as cardboard and paper into works full of strength and expressiveness.
His work moves between simplicity and complexity, between pop attraction and discomfort, between the smile and tension.
