Célipe Perroloco deliberately renounces control, clean drawing and domesticated lines in order to expose his emotional and visceral state at the exact moment of creation.

In Célipe’s work, the line becomes a calligraphy of emotion. Everything seems trapped inside that dense black ink, as if the image were trying to remain standing while something inside it slowly falls apart.

This piece belongs to the “Corrupted Pop Plants” series, where Célipe Perroloco works with very few elements —a face, empty eye sockets, a stain of color, a nervous line— to transmit pure emotion. As if vital energy travelled from the artist’s body, passed through the arm, reached the brush and stayed forever recorded on the paper.
