Description

Yes, it's an ashtray. But don’t try to put anything out here. It’s way too dead to die.
It doesn’t preach. It laughs. At everything. At art, at ego, at death turned trending topic. What you see isn’t just ceramic — it’s a pop epitaph wrapped in dark humor, sharp critique, and a grin that won’t fade with the ashes.
It wasn’t made to decorate. It was made to provoke. To make you laugh. To make you think. And if you dare, to make it yours.

About the Artist:
Laurina Paperina (Rovereto, Italy, 1980) works with the imagery of contemporary heroes and pop culture, creating a visual universe where dark humor, irony, and sharp critique come together. Through paintings, drawings, installations, and animations, she uses a cartoonish style to ridicule the narcissism of the art world, as well as politics and religion.
With a graphic language reminiscent of animation and lowbrow aesthetics, Paperina delivers an overflowing satire where the grotesque coexists with the childlike. Her works, as irreverent as they are clever, reveal a fiercely contemporary perspective and a clear intention: not to make serious art, but to make art with a strong opinion.
