Drawing by Dhani Barragan "Deconstructed Stewart"
$280.00
Description
You recognize it instantly, but something doesn’t quite fit.
It is not a simple mix of references. It is a hybrid image where two different ways of understanding television childhood collide in the same graphic body: the mischievous, direct, streetwise attitude of a cartoon icon, crossed with a more calculating, ironic, and disturbing expression.
Dhani takes characters that are already part of our collective visual memory and reassembles them through his own language, giving shape to what our minds had already mixed before: series, comics, humor, manga, anime, and pop memory.
That is why it feels so familiar. And at the same time, so strange.
Dhani Barragán — Seville, 1989 — works between pop surrealism, lowbrow art, Neo Pop, and contemporary iconography. His work has been exhibited in Spain, Indonesia, and the United States, is part of private collections across Europe, Asia, and America, and he maintains a close collaboration with Art Toy Gama.
